Joi Women's Wellness - 2025 Update on Pricing for Hormone Replacement Therapy

I've been a patient of Joi Women's Wellness for well over a year now. I also get my compound Semaglutide from Joi and due to all the recent changes and unknown future of compound semaglutide, the way they operate business is different today than a few months ago. Keep reading to get the full-scoop.
Joi Women's Wellness Reviews
My first experience with Joi was in March of 2024, at that time they were offering quarterly pricing for appointments and bloodwork and then different packages for Hormone Replacement.
Today, as of April 13, 2025, they have simplified their pricing and your ability to have access to a Joi Clinician for prescriptions.
Joi Women's Wellness Subscription Plan
Joi's 2025 Subscription plan is $150.00 per quarter and includes provider visits and the complete hormone lab panel at the 6-week mark of therapy and then quarterly visits and labs after that. Medication costs not included in the $150 subscription plan.
This means every quarter you'll be able to see your current hormone blood levels and have a 1:1 consultation with a Joi clinician to evaluate if the meds are working for you as expected or do things need to be tweaked?
If you are new to Joi, you can start by putting the Complete Hormone Test Kit in your cart. Using my link will give you a discount on the labs (up to 50% off). The retail cost for this lab panel is $150 and includes the initial bloodwork and the 1:1, 30-minute consultation. From there you'd start your subscription which includes the quarterly visits and lab follow-ups.
Does Joi Women's Wellness accept Medical Insurance?
There are two ways to get your prescriptions when working with Joi Women's Wellness.
Cash Out of Pocket - Joi partners with compounding pharmacies and can call your prescriptions in directly to their pharmacy and have the HRT medications sent directly to your home. Easy-Peasy. Compound pharmacies don't accept insurance, so you'd be paying out of pocket. At my most recent appointment, my Joi clinician suggested we keep on pace with my existing prescriptions of the Estradiol patch and progesterone tablets plus add in DHEA supplement, which I purchased on Amazon, as it was less money than purchasing from Joi Women's Wellness.
Estradiol Patch - .05 mg dose/changed out twice per-week $267/quarter
Progesterone - 200 mg oral daily tablets - $ 162/quarter
DHEA - 25 mg oral once daily - $ 120/quarter
Note, I had been on testosterone for a while, but when it ran out, I never pushed to get back on it, it's a bit pricey and is only prescribed off-label for women which means you are paying out of pocket. My clinician this time around, suggested DHEA which is pre-curser to testosterone, and it should be taken in the mornings.
Joi Clinicians are real docs that can write prescriptions, so if you want to use your prescription insurance or what I have found is using a GoodRx coupon code at the pharmacy can sometimes be a better price than using my prescription insurance. The prescriptions that were prescribed to me at Joi's cost would have been $183 per month. Both the patch and progesterone tablets are FDA approved and can be picked up at any local pharmacy with a prescription. At different times during 2024, I used a GoodRx coupon and picked up my prescriptions at my local pharmacy, the cost for the Estradiol Patch and Progesterone tablet were $69.38/month one time and then $33.58/month the next time around.
I've never understood why prescriptions vary in price throughout the year. I had someone tell me once that prescriptions are a commodity. Much like the cost of crude oil goes up and down, I guess prescriptions can as well. I also wonder if you get to a point in the year that your deductible gets met and the co-pay varies? Also, the costs above didn't include the DHEA tablets, that's new for me. You can get DHEA anywhere where supplements are sold.
My prescription for the DHEA was for 25 mg and I suspected it was considered a supplement, and I confirmed, you can get DHEA at 25mg dose on Amazon for $19.99 for 60 tablets. Joi's price was double that.
Joi Women's Wellness - Weight Loss
I've been on compound Semaglutide for over a year. I'm at my goal weight. I've opted to micro-dose to keep the edge off and to ensure I don't regain the weight. Joi may offer compound Semaglutide in 2,4,6 or 8 Month Packages, as long as compound pharmacies are able. In most cases they ship the entire 8 month package at one time and you can store in your refrigerator with the peace of mind that you have enough to get to goal weight or if you are like me and have done enough research to know I'll likely stay on it for a while, you can get it from Joi at a monthly cost of $167. (There has been lots of FDA movement on whether compound pharmacies are able to continue to offer semaglutide so be sure to check with your Joi clinician)
Keep in mind if you are micro-dosing, meaning taking less than a standard starter dose, you may get more than nine-months out of your package.
Go to the Weight Loss Page of the Joi Women's Wellness Website. Click the "Schedule a Consult Here" button to schedule your $59 - 1:1 consultation to get started on Semaglutide. Joi also offers the branded versions like Wegovy and Ozempic, but if you know your insurance doesn't cover the brand versions, skip to the chase and tell the Joi Clinician you want to start on the compound. As of this blog post, compound Semaglutide should be available through 5/22/2025 - after that only God knows if we'll still be able to get it.
The FDA removed Wegovy and Ozempic from the list of drugs in shortage. The compound pharmacies that had been filling the gap since January of 2024, will no longer (after the May date) be able to manufacture or sell it. I've read that they are able to sell it as long as they have left over stock, get it while you can.
Joi Women's Wellness Hormone Testing
If you plan to get started with Joi for HRT and are looking to also start Semaglutide, you can do both at your HRT initial consultation once your blood work and labs come back. You'll purchase the lab test panel of your choice, Joi will send you lab papers to take to your local LabCorp to get your blood drawn. Once the test results are back, you'll be able to schedule your consultation and gain access to HRT prescriptions.
If you want Semaglutide only, you can schedule the $59.00 - 1:1, 15-minute consultation to discuss Weight Loss solely.
Joi offers three packages of blood work and lab panels for HRT testing. Select the lab of your choice. Each package includes a 1:1 consultation to discuss your results and prescription options.
Hormone Replacement Therapy - My Journey
My first experience with HRT was in late 2019, when a doc that I called my diet doc prescribed HRT along with a diet and nutrition plan. I basically did it the hard way, the old fashion way as that was before Semaglutide and Tirzepatide were widely available for Weight loss.
The HRT most definitely helped me lose some of the excess menopause weight, but in March of 2024, I still had like 10-15 pounds I wanted to lose. Once I started on compound Semaglutide, the combination of HRT and Semaglutide was the Holy Grail of easy Weight Loss for me.
I'm very grateful for both HRT and Semaglutide. Menopause is definitely having a moment - meaning whether you have medical and prescription insurance or not you can get Hormone Replacement Therapy medications in lots of ways. That's what this website is all about, your options on how to gain access to prescriptions and the medications.
Compound Semaglutide, well we just don't know how long we may or may not have access, so if that's something you want to try, do it before May 22, 2025. Ask your Joi clinician at your Blood Work 1:1 about Weight Loss and they can fill you in on the available options based on current conditions.
