I have been on Hormone Replacement since late 2019 and have never looked back. In the summer of 2019 I was at my heaviest weight and was 52 years old. I was experiencing hot-flashes, night sweats, moodiness and just didn't feel like myself. I desperately wanted to lose weight as I felt that would get things back to normal, but it seemed that no matter how hard I tried or what "diet" I went on, I couldn't get the weight off.
A friend of my sister's posted that she had found a doctor that was helping her lose weight and I was intrigued. I called him and learned that I needed a referral, so I reached out to my primary care physician was able to get an appointment about two months later. If it took that long to get an appointment, he must be great, right?
What this diet doc prescribed was bioidentical hormones along with a diet from his nutritionist on staff.
My mom had been on HRT back in the early 2000s but was suddenly taken off it—and at the time, I never really understood why. I’ve since learned that it was largely due to the 2002 WHI study, which led many doctors to pull women off Hormone Replacement Therapy almost overnight. Now, we know that study had major flaws and much of its data has been debunked. So, when my new doctor recommended HRT for me, the very first thought that popped into my head was: “Wait—won’t that give me cancer?”
Since that time I've done a ton of research and what I know today is that it's the exact opposite of what I thought. There is now research showing that HRT benefits women in many ways and it is no longer a fear that it causes cancer.

Hormone Replacement Therapy - Online Options
Once Covid hit in 2020, my diet doc and I started meeting via Zoom, which I found to be very convenient. Then when things returned to a more normal, he wanted me to come back to the office, but I found that very time consuming and it seemed to be a waste of my time. I'd have to take 45 minutes to drive to his office, to sit in his waiting room for another 20 minutes to then have 12 minutes of his precious time only then to spend 45 minutes to drive home.
There had to be a better way. So I began to research if there were HRT companies online offering it via Telehealth. This website is a result of that quest to find online companies that offer Hormone Replacement and visits with real docs to gain access and prescriptions to HRT. What is the best Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy for Menopause?
Hormone replacement can be synthetic, bioidentical or it can be natural. What's the difference?
Synthetic HRT means that the product you are taking was manufactured in a pharmaceutical facility. It is likely to have been mass produced and could come from ingredients that might surprise you. It may or may not be FDA approved for the ingredients and the dosage. Back in the day, my other was prescribed Premarin which I later learned is female horse urine from a pregnant mare, which contains estrogen.
Bioidentical HRT means that the product mimics the exact chemical makeup of the hormones our bodies produced naturally when were the younger versions of ourselves. In most cases it comes from plants and does require some manufacturing to get it in a version or formula that can be prescribed by docs. Bioidentical versions of HRT contain FDA approved ingredients, but often come in customized doses which haven't necessarily been approved by the FDA.
Natural HRT means just that. It's coming from foods or supplements that you consume and they haven't been altered from their original formula. Some plants and supplements that people may take to treat hormonal symptoms include:
phytoestrogens, which are dietary estrogens found in legumes, seeds, and whole grains
folate (vitamin B-9 or folic acid)
St. John’s wort
black cohosh
licorice root
valerian root
red clover
evening primrose oil
omega-3 fatty acids
Before 2019, I tried many of the foods and supplements on the list above, but never felt any different or better. So I continued to explore my options.

Hormone Replacement Therapy Drugs
HRT drugs require a prescription from a doctor licensed to practice in your state. It could come from your primary care physician, your GYN or it can come from a specialty clinic that does business online as Telehealth. Click here to see a list of trusted online providers.
Most Hormone Replacement Therapy consists of Estradiol which is form of estrogen. If you still have a uterus, you may also be prescribed an Progesterone product. And then depending on your symptoms and the philosophy of your doc, your meds might include DHEA supplements and possibly Testosterone.
The younger versions of ourselves had no issues producing these hormones, but once you hit your mid-30's your body struggles to keep up and that's when you start to feel the symptoms of PeriMenopause and Menopause.
Some of the specialty clinics take insurance and prescribe meds that can be picked up from your local pharmacy using your insurance or a GoodRx coupon. Others have chosen a simpler approach, offering discounted prices on medications that are paid for out of pocket and don’t require insurance.
Best Online Hormone Replacement
My website, HormoneTherapy Hub is a labor of love for all of you women out there during your Perimenopause and Menopause years. My personal GYN won't prescribe HRT and maybe you are in the same boat? Sometimes we need to take our health into our own hands and advocate for ourselves.
In the past 18 months I've made it my mission to become a patient of many of the more well-known popular online HRT providers. The blogs and reviews in my website are the testimonials to those experiences. I share my experience with different companies and docs, the prices with and without insurance and my opinion on which products work best for me. Not all of us will respond the same way with the same product, so you have to be open to some trial and error as you and your HRT provider determine which products and dosages work best for you.
The companies I have tried are Winona, Alloy, Midi Heath, MyMenopauseRx and Joi Woman's Wellness. Some of these companies take insurance and some don't. Some require a 1:1 video visit and others do all their communication via their patient portal. Some want upfront bloodwork, others practice evidence based medicine and don't require testing. Based on your needs and desires, I'm confident you'll be able to find a company that fits the bill for you.
