Allara Vs. Winona, which might be right for you?

I have been a patient of Winona and tried several of their HRT products. I have not been a patient of Allara Health. I am am HRT patient reviewer, I've tried 7 of the most popular telehealth HRT providers. See list of trusted providers here.

Winona is a telehealth company who offers Hormone Replacement Therapy and other products to support women who are in mid-life.

Winona Hormone Replacement

Winona was the first online Hormone Replacement Therapy company I tried. I had been on HRT for a few years, but the idea of having to drive to my doctor's office, sit in the waiting room, only to have a few minutes of his precious time, got to be old.

I then went on a mission to find a company who offered HRT as telehealth. Winona is one of the most well-known popular telehealth brands out there. Winona specializes in the perimenopause and menopause space.

Winona, similar to Alloy don't require that you meet 1:1 with a HRT licensed doctor. They ask that you create an account in their website and then you are immediately connected to an HRT specialist where you'll be able to communicate via text to ask questions and learn about Hormone Replacement options that they offer. There are no fees to create an account or to communicate with a Winona HRT clinician.

Once you and your assigned HRT specialist land on a therapy that you want to try, you'll provide a credit card and they will send your prescription directly to their partner pharmacy and have the medications shipped directly to your front door.

Often, they prescribe their Winona 50/50 topical cream. It's estradiol and progesterone. It's about $89 per month and you'll purchase in a 90-day or 3-month supply. Topical creams are to be rubbed on your inner thighs or inner arms. The 50/50 cream absorbs transdermal via your skin.

However, in hearing feed back from my audience, many don't get the desired results with a topical cream and often switch to the tried-and-true, Estradiol Patch, Estradiol vaginal cream, plus progesterone tables, which will cost you $188 from Winona. You can get the same combo from a company called Effecty for $145 per month. See Effecty page of website for a $50 off coupon code to get started.

How can I know which is a better fit for me

These two are vastly different, so it should be easy to determine which one might be a better fit for you.

  1. Winona is clearly for women in mid-life (35+) and beyond. They specialize in symptoms that result from perimenopause and menopause. They only charge for medications that come from their partner pharmacy and you will not have any monthly subscription fees.

  1. Allara does prescribe HRT for women in their mid-life years, but they are also super specialized in hormone testing for fertility, PCOS or other endocrine system concerns. If you are experiencing issues and you are 18-34, it's likely that Allara will be a better fit for you.

Both Winona and Allara have been Legit Script certified. This means they've been tested by a 3rd party and that your credit card information is safe.

Allara Vs. Winona

I can't say that one is better than the other, it's mostly more around who they serve. Winona's space is the women in perimenopause or menopause, 35+ in years and beyond.

Allara is more specialized in the female age group that is 18-34, specifically if you are experiencing severe symptoms like PCOS or if you struggling with infertility.

Welcome

I am an HRT patient reviewer of online platforms. I've become a patient & paid out of pocket (sometimes with & sometimes without insurance) for every HRT product I've tried and review. These reviews are my honest experience as I continue to navigate menopause, just like you!
